Planning and preparation are key to a successful birthday party. Start with an itinerary. We have created a suggested itinerary to assist you in developing yours. It’s beneficial to plan out the order of events and back up plans. For example, if some of the party is outside, make sure you plan for some alternate, indoor activities just in case it rains.
Create lists for the games and activities (including equipment required and prizes), the table setting and food, and anything else you may need to remember prior and on the day.
Here are some of my top tips for party day preparations!
One
Don’t worry about having a spotless house. Children don’t care if the bathroom is sparkling or the carpet freshly steam cleaned. Tidy up and save your energy for the birthday party.
Two
Make sure you have extras of everything: party food, party favours and prizes. You never know when you might wind up having an extra guest, or need to add an extra game to keep the kids amused.
Three
Remove any obstacles or things that could cause harm. Don’t forget to have basic first aid items on hand, just in case.
Four
Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s your child’s special day. So as long as they are having fun, it’s a success!
Five
Don’t forget the photos. We suggest asking a friend or family member to take them throughout the party.
Six
Prepare prior to the party allowing you to enjoy the party. Fill cupcake papers with jelly, lollies, cupcakes and lay them on a tray to hand out. We highly recommend Paper Eskimo papers as they are made of a firm card
